World Water Day is celebrated every year on March 22 to raise awareness about the importance of fresh water and sustainable management of water resources. This day was created by the United Nations in 1993 to draw attention to water problems around the world.

Every year, World Water Day has a different theme that highlights different aspects of water management. Previous themes have included water and sustainable development, water and climate change, water and jobs, and water and food security.

This year will be under the theme of change to solve the water and sanitation crisis.
