In March, the garden begins to emerge from its winter torpor and begins to wake up for spring.

Depending on where your garden is located, here are a few things that could be happening:

If you live in a colder area, you may still have snow on the ground in March. However, temperatures will start to rise and you may see signs of life from winter plants, such as snowdrops or crocuses, starting to grow through the snow.

If you live in a warmer area, you might see fruit trees begin to flower, daffodils and tulips emerge from the ground, and primroses begin to bloom.

Either way, it's a good time to start preparing your garden for the upcoming growing season.

You can start cleaning up areas of the garden that need weeding or pruning, and prepare the soil for future plantings.

If you have perennials, this is also a good time to divide them and replant them in new areas of the garden.

You can also start sowing some seeds indoors to later transplant them into the garden.

Vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers and zucchini are examples of plants you can start sowing indoors in March.

All in all, March marks the start of a new gardening season, and there's a lot to do to prepare for the growing season to come.

And don't forget to equip yourself with ollas!
